Paddles for Kayak

Kayak paddles are double bladed, which means that at the end of the shaft or axis there are two leaves that are fed into the water on either side of the kayak. 

The shaft can be made of aluminum, fiberglass or carbon. Aluminum is heavy but cheap. Fiberglass and carbon are lightweight materials that make sailing longer trips more fun. The blade can be made of plastic, fiberglass or carbon. The plastic blade is found on cheap paddles, while fiberglass and carbon are finer materials.

Paddles are long and usually consist of several parts. The width of a paddle is reasonably universal, but should be longer for tall people.
